Accounts Payable Manager

A growing healthcare organization in Vista is looking for an AP Manager to take ownership of its accounts payable function. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing invoice processing, vendor relationships, payment cycles, reconciliations, and AP controls. The ideal candidate knows how to lead a team but isn't afraid to jump into the details when something needs to be investigated or resolved.

Your responsibilities

• Manage the company's full-cycle AP function
• Supervise and mentor AP staff
• Establish priorities and monitor daily invoice workflow
• Review invoice coding and approval requirements
• Oversee three-way matching and purchase order processes
• Manage weekly payment runs
• Review vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain vendor master data and controls
• Monitor AP aging and outstanding invoices
• Partner with Purchasing and department leaders
• Investigate duplicate invoices and payment issues
• Oversee month-end AP close and accruals
• Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end activities
• Develop AP policies and procedures
• Track AP metrics and identify process improvements
• Support internal and external audits

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive AP/accounting experience
• 2+ years of AP leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong understanding of invoice-to-payment processes
• Experience with high-volume AP
• Strong Excel and ERP skills
• Excellent vendor communication abilities
• Strong knowledge of accounting controls
• Healthcare, medical, or multi-location experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree preferred
