Purchasing Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support procurement activities and ensure the timely acquisition of materials, supplies, and services. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, monitoring inventory levels, negotiating pricing, and helping maintain efficient supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, process, and track purchase orders from requisition through delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met.
• Obtain and compare quotes to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of materials and supplies.
• Resolve issues related to late shipments, order discrepancies, and invoice variances.
• Collaborate with operations, production, accounting, and warehouse teams to support business needs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and procurement documentation.
• Review and reconcile purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Assist with contract management and vendor performance evaluations.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, buyer, or supply chain experience.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Manufacturing, distribution, automotive, or industrial purchasing experience.
• Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain best practices.
• Experience with sourcing, bid processes, and supplier contract management.
