Overview:

Perform full range of duties in the receipt, stow, and issue of material in support of NIWC Distribution Center.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for customer contact and engagement daily.
  • Schedules and coordinates daily inventory counts.
  • Reviews daily workload – planning, ordering and purchasing.
  • Coordinate with Crating contractors for bidding and crate building.
  • Tracks progress of completed work and provides updates to the leadership team.
  • Updates inventory status reports.
  • Prepare status reports and supportability requirements upon request.
  • Operate MHE as assigned and hold appropriate license.
  • Track accountability of material received and issued against legacy systems.
  • Coordinate deliveries of material.
  • Purchasing of all materials and supplies after government improvement.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May perform support scheduling responsibilities as assigned by Project Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years general warehouse experience.
  • 2 years specific experience in material handling, material packing, supply, distribution, inspection, or related areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in the use of Warehouse Management System and all NIWC Systems.
  • Must be familiar with MIL-STD 129 and P700.
  • Must possess knowledge of inspection/examination/packing procedures for material.
  • Must possess knowledge of research techniques for unmarked/defective material (frustrated) requiring identification.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software.
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and an ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and strong attention for detail.
