Department Overview

The dental school prepares graduates in general dentistry and the dental specialties to deliver compassionate and ethical oro-facial health care. 

Function/Duties of Position

This Dental Assistant position supports the Graduate Periodontics Dental Clinic but also supports multiple departments within the School of Dentistry based upon clinical needs. The position requires flexibility and willingness to adapt to new situations and processes based upon the specific department that is being supported for each shift. Work units are primarily housed at the RLSB (Robertson Life Science Building) with an additional work unit at the SOD, Russell St. Dental Clinic in North Portland. EFDA certification highly encouraged. 


Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program OR
  • One year of experience as a chair side Dental Assistant
  • Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for Radiological Proficiency required for all positions
  • BLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled in an OHSU training course and will be required to complete the course during the onboarding process
  • Must have worked as a dental assistant within the last 5 years
