Senior Accountant


Position Overview

This is an opportunity to join a world class, international organization. Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting of assets across a large portfolio. This position will be responsible for ensuring investments are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally with finance, operations, and technology teams. This role offers strong exposure to process enhancement initiatives, systems optimization, and career growth opportunities within a dynamic accounting environment.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Review expenditure activity to ensure costs are properly categorized and recorded within the general ledger.
  • Monitor CIP and project-related accounts, researching variances and preparing required journal entries or adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate asset records, including additions, transfers, retirements, and disposals.
  • Record proceeds associated with dispositions and ensure subledger activity is properly reflected in reporting.

Reconciliations & Reporting

  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Perform analyses of various balance sheet and project-related accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal reporting packages and management analyses related to investments and assets.

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Partner with finance and technology teams to ensure data consistency between financial systems and project tracking platforms.
  • Participate in system enhancement initiatives, including testing updates, validating reporting functionality, and supporting process improvements.
  • Support compliance with internal controls and corporate governance requirements through accurate documentation and adherence to established procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and leverage technology solutions.

Audit & Cross-Functional Support

  • Provide documentation and analysis for internal and external audit requests.
  • Collaborate with operational and accounting stakeholders to resolve accounting questions and improve information flow.
  • Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other accounting assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3-4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience supporting assets, capital projects, or similar accounting functions is preferred.
  • Exposure to large organizational or multi-entity accounting environments is a plus.
  • CPA designation or parts passed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to build productive relationships across functional groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
