Senior Statutory Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee general ledger activity by reviewing transactions, posting entries, and ensuring account balances are accurate and fully supported.
• Prepare timely financial statements and reporting packages by analyzing account activity, identifying variances, and summarizing key trends.
• Manage core reporting deliverables, including balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss statement accuracy across reporting periods.
• Record and organize financial activity with clear documentation to support transparency, audit readiness, and internal review.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory close processes to help ensure complete and accurate filings.
• Coordinate the preparation of schedules and supporting materials required for external tax providers and audit partners.
• Monitor compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal financial controls.
• Assist in developing forecasts and budget-related analyses to support financial planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced education is preferred.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in statutory accounting.
• Strong understanding of statutory accounting guidance, reporting practices, and applicable accounting principles.
• Experience preparing quarterly and annual statutory reports, including supporting schedules and disclosures.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Business Central, Dynamics, Sapiens, or similar financial systems.
• Working knowledge of corporate tax requirements, internal controls, and accounting procedure documentation.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
