Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a well-established manufacturing organization in San Antonio, Texas. This Long-term Contract position focuses on promotional accounting activities, including managing trade allowances, reviewing customer deductions, and helping ensure accurate payment processing tied to promotional programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:
• Review promotional deductions, off-invoice pricing variances, and payment activity to ensure transactions are accurate and resolved promptly.
• Gather supporting records from sales teams, brokers, distributors, customers, and other business partners to validate claims and payment requests.
• Pursue recovery of deductions or write-offs that do not meet company guidelines and follow established procedures for resolution.
• Examine trade agreements for inconsistencies, identify errors, and coordinate corrective action when needed.
• Help maintain compliance with internal standards related to promotional spending and customer allowance programs.
• Analyze customer and product-related financial activity so profitability is recorded accurately.
• Support billing, cash application, and accounts receivable processes connected to promotional transactions.
• Investigate invoice and pricing discrepancies by comparing agreements, payment records, and account activity.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with foundational knowledge of accounting principles expected.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, with hands-on exposure to accounts receivable activities.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Experience with cash applications, billing functions, collections, and invoice research strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced office environment.
• Experience in broker-related environments or familiarity with promotional accounting activities is a plus.

Compensation

$23.00-$25.00 Hourly
