Project Manager

Minneapolis, MN 55402, US Temporary
Compensation: $61.75 to $71.50 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to support a major finance-focused initiative within the investment advisory industry. This position will lead a high-visibility effort to modernize and digitize critical financial information in support of regulatory obligations, while coordinating work across finance, technology, and external service partners. The role requires a strong leader who can keep complex programs moving forward, align stakeholders around priorities, and deliver results through disciplined project management practices.


Responsibilities:

• Direct the project from initiation through completion, overseeing planning, execution, communication, governance, and delivery against timeline, budget, and quality expectations.

• Build and maintain detailed project plans that outline milestones, dependencies, resource needs, critical paths, and key deliverables for cross-functional teams.

• Coordinate daily project activity across finance, technology, and third-party partners, resolving obstacles quickly to keep workstreams on schedule.

• Lead the execution of project phases by identifying practical short-term approaches, including manual or interim processes, while supporting the development of scalable automation over time.

• Establish an effective governance structure that includes status meetings, steering committee updates, decision tracking, issue management, risk oversight, and change control.

• Monitor scope, risks, assumptions, and resource requirements, ensuring project outcomes remain aligned with business goals and regulatory needs.

• Identify interdependencies across teams and functions, integrating them into the broader project roadmap to support seamless delivery.

• Maintain thorough project documentation such as plans, procedures, approvals, and test evidence in accordance with internal standards and audit expectations.

• Advocate for the project team by escalating challenges, facilitating decisions, and promoting continuous improvement as business needs evolve.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 10 years of experience managing large, complex, cross-functional projects, preferably involving technology-enabled business solutions.
• Demonstrated success working with vendor-supported initiatives and coordinating delivery across internal and external teams.
• Strong ability to communicate clearly with senior leaders and executive stakeholders, including the confidence to influence decisions and drive alignment.
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Jira, and Confluence.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex processes into clear documentation for non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of project governance, risk management, change management, and structured delivery practices.
• Agile, Scrum, or other project management certification is preferred.

Compensation

$61.75-$71.50 Hourly
