Property Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support financial operations for real estate assets in Boulder, Colorado. This Contract position focuses on maintaining accurate accounting records, overseeing month-end activities, and ensuring reliable reporting through effective use of Yardi software. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in property accounting, accrual-based accounting, and general ledger management within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned properties, ensuring financial records remain accurate and up to date.
• Prepare and complete month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain the general ledger and review account activity to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Apply accrual accounting principles to record transactions correctly and support accurate financial reporting.
• Use Yardi software to process accounting tasks, generate reports, and monitor property-level financial data.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to ensure consistency across reporting periods.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information and support routine accounting deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Experience in property accounting with a solid understanding of real estate financial operations.
• Proficiency with Yardi software for accounting, reporting, and record maintenance.
• Strong background in managing month-end close activities and related reconciliations.
• Knowledge of accrual accounting principles and their application in daily accounting work.
• Experience maintaining and analyzing general ledger accounts.
• High attention to detail with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple deadlines effectively.

Compensation

$26.60-$30.80 Hourly
