Corporate Paralegal

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal on behalf of a well-established financial services organization in New York City. This position will support the company's Workout Department and offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on commercial lending and commercial real estate matters involving loan workouts, lien searches, collections, and resolution efforts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with commercial real estate, commercial lending, creditors' rights, or financial services experience who is looking to join a collaborative and fast-paced legal team.

Position Details

Duration: Ongoing Temp

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) (3 days in Office Tues-Thurs | M/F Remote)

Pay Rate: $30-$35 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to two attorneys within the Workout Department.
• Manage, review, and track invoices received from outside counsel.
• Prepare and distribute demand letters related to delinquent or defaulted commercial loan accounts.
• Conduct lien searches and analyze supporting documentation.
• Assist with commercial loan workout and recovery efforts.
• Coordinate communications with outside counsel, borrowers, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain legal files, matter tracking systems, and related documentation.
• Track deadlines and monitor ongoing matters to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
• Assist with legal research, document review, and other special projects as assigned.
• Support efforts to pursue resolutions on distressed assets and defaulted loans.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of paralegal experience.
• Experience supporting commercial real estate, commercial lending, creditor's rights, foreclosure, workout, or collections matters strongly preferred.
• Experience conducting lien searches and reviewing public records.
• Familiarity with demand letters, loan enforcement, or recovery processes.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and business partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
