Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a team in Massachusetts. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is well suited for someone who brings strong invoice processing experience, accuracy in coding payables, and confidence handling routine payment activities. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounts payable operations while helping maintain timely and organized financial records.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and enter payment details into the accounting system in a timely manner.
• Review invoice information for proper coding, supporting documentation, and approval before submission for payment.
• Prepare and assist with scheduled check runs to ensure vendors are paid according to established deadlines.
• Reconcile invoice records and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with internal departments and external suppliers.
• Maintain organized accounts payable files and documentation to support audit readiness and reporting needs.
• Monitor outstanding payables and follow up on items requiring clarification, correction, or approval.
• Support routine accounts payable activities while helping improve accuracy and consistency within the payment process.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Hands-on ability to code invoices accurately and manage high-volume invoice processing.
• Familiarity with check runs and standard payment procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and correct errors efficiently.
• Comfortable working with accounting systems and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to stay organized, manage deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$21.00-$24.00 Hourly
