Financial Services Associate Director
Responsibilities:
• Direct monthly closing activities and ensure financial statements, analyses, and supporting reports are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Improve accounting workflows by identifying opportunities to simplify procedures, strengthen controls, and increase the efficiency of close-related tasks.
• Apply advanced accounting guidance in specialized areas such as long-term debt and lease accounting to maintain compliance with applicable standards.
• Guide annual audit preparation by coordinating schedules, organizing required documentation, and serving as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Lead the development of the annual budget process and help align financial plans with organizational objectives and reporting needs.
• Resolve accounting software and financial system issues by recommending practical solutions that support operational and reporting requirements.
• Maintain the chart of accounts by creating and updating ledger, statistical, and hierarchical account structures as business needs evolve.
• Oversee banking administration, including account maintenance, reconciliations, service utilization, and related financial controls.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate team members while setting priorities, supporting cross-training, and providing direction on complex accounting matters.
• Build productive relationships with internal and external partners while monitoring departmental spending, supporting compliance efforts, and carrying out additional assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• Significant experience in financial reporting, general accounting, and month-end close leadership.
• Strong knowledge of complex accounting standards, including lease accounting and debt-related transactions.
• Experience managing external audits, preparing supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
• Demonstrated ability to lead budgeting activities and deliver accurate financial analysis for operational stakeholders.
• Prior success supervising staff, setting priorities, and developing high-performing teams.
• Proficiency with financial systems, account structures, reconciliations, and banking administration.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences.
Compensation
