Buyer
Responsibilities:
• Review purchasing recommendations and make informed buying decisions based on demand, inventory position, and supply needs.
• Issue and maintain purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring transactions are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Confirm commercial details such as payment terms, freight arrangements, shipping costs, and applicable tariff considerations before orders are finalized.
• Partner with production and warehouse teams to provide clear direction on incoming materials, expected receipt dates, and inventory availability.
• Monitor supplier commitments, shipment progress, and delivery updates to maintain reliable visibility into inbound quantities and timing.
• Keep shipment records and related documentation current and accurate within online tracking folders and internal systems.
• Coordinate with supply chain and logistics partners to shorten lead times, improve on-time delivery performance, and control transportation expenses across domestic and international shipments.
• Conduct regular open-order reviews with suppliers, document outcomes, and communicate changes that may affect customer demand, cost, or lead time.
• Provide cross-functional support to teammates as needed and create standard work documentation to support consistent execution of responsibilities.
Qualifications:
• 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, buying, or supplier management within a supply chain-driven environment.• Background in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or inventory-focused operations with hands-on exposure to material planning and inbound supply coordination.
• Working knowledge of procurement processes, purchase order management, supplier communication, and related business practices.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing systems; exposure to NetSuite or comparable platforms is strongly preferred.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing documentation, shipment data, and order information.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work independently while responding effectively to changing business and supplier conditions.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external supplier partners.
• Experience supporting global supply chains is preferred, especially involving international suppliers.
