Staff Accountant

Compensation: $80 to $90 Yearly

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records for the organization. This role contributes to daily accounting activities, period-end close, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Based in Monterey Park, California, the position offers the opportunity to work across multiple accounting functions and support ongoing process improvements.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries, organizing account activity, and keeping financial data accurate and up to date.
• Reconcile balance sheet and other assigned accounts on a regular basis, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities by preparing accruals, adjustments, and other required accounting entries.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables.
• Help ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements by preparing documentation and supporting audit requests.
• Contribute to day-to-day accounting operations by assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related processes as needed.
• Participate in budgeting support and financial analysis by tracking performance and explaining notable variances against plan.
• Recommend and support improvements to accounting workflows to increase accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting and preparation of journal entries.
• Working knowledge of account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and month-end close procedures.
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation and supporting schedules.
• Understanding of sales tax requirements and corporate tax return support activities.
• Ability to analyze accounting data, identify discrepancies, and take corrective action.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

Compensation

$80,000.00-$90,000.00 Yearly
