Customer Service Representative

Robert Half is partnering with a large, public-sector organization in Albany seeking a Business Service Representative to join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional service.

This temporary-to-hire opportunity offers a unique blend of customer support, transaction processing, records management, and issue resolution. You'll support customers and internal stakeholders across a variety of business service areas, including customer service, finance, and human resources. What You'll Do

• Provide customer support by phone, email, and electronic service systems.
• Answer questions, resolve issues, and assist customers with requests related to business service functions.
• Process transactions and maintain accurate records in accordance with established procedures.
• Research and resolve discrepancies involving records, documentation, and account information.
• Support operational activities across customer service, finance, human resources, and related service areas.
• Utilize multiple systems to track requests, document activity, and ensure timely follow-up.
• Review information for completeness and accuracy while maintaining attention to detail.
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams to meet service levels and support evolving business needs.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in customer service, member services, call center, banking, healthcare, insurance, human resources, finance support, records management, or a similar office-based environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to research issues, analyze information, and identify solutions.
• Comfortable managing a combination of phone-based customer interactions and computer-based work throughout the day.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma and at least three years of experience processing business, finance, or human resources transactions; or
• Completion of 60 semester credit hours of college-level coursework; or
• Completion of 30 semester credit hours of college-level coursework plus one year of relevant transaction-processing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strong customer service in a fast-paced support environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including clear and courteous email and phone interactions.
• Experience interpreting policies, procedures, and service level expectations to complete work accurately.
• Working knowledge of auditing, bookkeeping, data review, or complex transaction handling.
• Ability to learn multiple service areas and adjust responsibilities based on operational needs.

Compensation

$19.00-$23.00 Hourly
