Accounts Payable Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices with a high level of accuracy and enter payment details into the accounting system.
• Review invoices carefully, assign the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers, and confirm coding aligns with company standards.
• Coordinate invoice approvals by submitting documentation to appropriate accounting leaders and tracking outstanding items to completion.
• Verify that each invoice includes the required backup and authorization before it moves forward for payment.
• Maintain organized vendor files and ensure supporting records remain current, complete, and easy to retrieve.
• Investigate billing issues, help reconcile discrepancies, and communicate with vendors to resolve payment-related questions.
• Assist with payment activity, including ACH transactions and check runs, while supporting other accounts payable tasks as needed.
• Contribute to month-end close efforts and provide assistance on additional accounting assignments when requested.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of accounts payable or closely related accounting experience.• Demonstrated ability to manually enter invoices and apply accurate account coding in an accounting system.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable workflows, including approvals, payment support, and record maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle high-volume transactional work accurately.
• Effective communication and organizational skills for following up with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, reviewing, and organizing financial information.
• Experience with NetSuite is preferred.
• Healthcare industry experience is helpful but not required.
