Mailroom Operator 1
We are looking for a dependable fully on-site Mailroom Operator 1 to support daily mailroom and receiving activities in office for a client site in Jacksonville, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on administrative work, takes pride in organized operations, and delivers a detail-oriented experience to internal customers. The role combines mail handling, shipping coordination, inventory support, and general facility assistance in a fast-paced onsite environment.
Responsibilities:
• Receive, sort, and route incoming letters, parcels, and deliveries to the appropriate departments in a timely manner.
• Prepare outgoing mail and shipments by packaging materials, generating carrier labels, and coordinating dispatch through approved shipping providers.
• Use tracking tools to log, monitor, and confirm the movement of mail and packages while resolving delivery issues with carriers when needed.
• Support receiving dock activities by checking incoming shipments against packing records or invoices and forwarding documentation to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain stock levels for office, mailroom, and print areas, including paper, toner, and other commonly used supplies.
• Assist with company store or supply area operations by organizing merchandise, replenishing shelves, and monitoring product condition and expiration dates.
• Keep the mailroom and related workspaces clean, orderly, and ready for daily operations.
• Partner with facility management and onsite stakeholders to address service requests, respond to concerns, and escalate operational risks appropriately.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.• At least two years of experience in a mailroom, shipping and receiving, administrative support, or a similar operational role.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills in a client-facing onsite setting.
• Ability to read instructions carefully, apply sound judgment, and solve routine operational problems independently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Compensation
