Legal Secretary
Responsibilities:
• Prepare client letters, legal pleadings, motions, and related documents from dictated recordings and attorney direction using word processing tools.
• Coordinate state and federal court submissions, including electronic filing, notice preparation, and follow-up on required documentation.
• Organize and update standard legal forms and template language for post-consultation correspondence and case-related communications.
• Gather case details and supporting information from clients when additional materials are needed for filings or attorney review.
• Maintain calendars for legal deadlines, filing dates, hearings, and other time-sensitive case activity.
• Review drafted materials for formatting, completeness, and accuracy before they are finalized and distributed.
• Support motion practice by assembling exhibits, preparing filing components, and ensuring documents are ready for submission.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal administrative support role. • Background supporting plaintiff-side employment law matters strongly preferred. • Demonstrated experience with dictation and transcription of legal correspondence and case documents. • Proficiency with electronic court filing in state and federal courts. • Working knowledge of motions, pleadings, notices, and other litigation-related documents. • Strong calendar management skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines accurately. • Excellent written communication, organization, and attention to detail.The pay range for this position is $25 to $30.
