Payroll Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Administer full-cycle payroll processing for employees on a regular schedule, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
• Manage payroll activity across multiple states while applying appropriate wage, tax, and reporting requirements.
• Process payroll for both union and non-union employee populations, taking contract terms and pay rules into account.
• Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, and adjustments to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Maintain employee payroll records and update system data to reflect changes in compensation, benefits, and withholdings.
• Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and internal partners with clear communication.
• Support payroll audits, reporting, and reconciliation activities to help ensure compliance and accurate recordkeeping.
• Assist with payroll system-related tasks, including work involving payroll platforms, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience processing payroll in a detail-oriented business environment.• Strong knowledge of full-cycle payroll practices, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments.
• Experience handling multi-state payroll with careful attention to compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with payroll administration for both union and non-union workforces.
• Working knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Paylocity.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when managing sensitive payroll data.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies, solve problems efficiently, and meet recurring deadlines.
