Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day payment operations for a busy finance team in Irvine, California. This Long-term Contract position focuses on handling vendor invoices with accuracy, maintaining organized records, and helping ensure payments are completed on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong accounts payable experience, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for correct account coding, required approvals, and alignment with purchase orders or contract terms.
• Enter payable transactions into the accounting or ERP system with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Verify billing amounts, identify duplicate or incorrect charges, and coordinate joint check processing when needed.
• Confirm supporting documentation such as lien releases, preliminary notices, and liability-related records is complete before payment processing.
• Process invoices within established deadlines to help ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payment status, insurance documentation, or account information.
• Maintain current vendor records and organize files for billings, releases, notices, and insurance certificates as required.
• Prepare billing and cost-related status updates for management and assist with additional projects assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience working with accounting software systems or ERP platforms.
• Ability to code invoices accurately and manage high-volume invoice processing.
• Solid understanding of vendor payment procedures, batching, and general accounts payable workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
• Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail in document handling and data entry.

Compensation

$21.00-$25.00 Hourly
