CAD Technician

Overview

Robert Half is seeking a CAD Technician for a short-term contract opportunity with our client in Macon, GA. This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering or design career who has experience working with CAD software and enjoys creating technical drawings and documentation.

The primary focus of this position will be converting existing parts and components into accurate 3D models and detailed drawings for engineering documentation purposes.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models for parts and components.
• Generate detailed print drawings and supporting documentation from existing parts.
• Interpret engineering drawings, prints, and dimensional information.
• Accurately document component measurements and specifications.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure drawing accuracy.
• Organize and maintain CAD files and technical documentation.
• Support ongoing documentation as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with CAD software.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints, drawings, and dimensions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic understanding of mechanical components and part documentation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Experience creating print drawings from physical parts or existing documentation.
• Technical coursework, engineering technology education, or related training.
