Senior Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and supporting the overall accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis efforts.
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audit requests.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Review fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and provide financial insight.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing, healthcare, nonprofit, or service industry experience (adjust as needed).
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls.

Compensation
