About the Role
An established public-sector organization in the Pikes Peak Region is seeking a Historic Preservation & Planning Coordinator to support planning, zoning, community development, and historic preservation initiatives. This position serves as a key resource for residents, property owners, contractors, and community stakeholders while coordinating a variety of projects and public processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate planning, zoning, and historic preservation applications from submission through approval
• Review project materials and ensure timely processing of applications, permits, and related documentation
• Administer grant and project programs, including applicant communication, project tracking, and compliance monitoring
• Prepare agendas, reports, meeting packets, minutes, and correspondence for advisory boards and public meetings
• Attend board and commission meetings and provide administrative and project support
• Conduct site visits and field observations related to development, planning, and preservation projects
• Provide guidance to residents, property owners, and contractors regarding regulations, processes, and requirements
• Maintain project records, budgets, invoices, contracts, and departmental files
• Assist with budget tracking, reporting, and long-range planning efforts
• Coordinate with community groups, stakeholders, and partner organizations
• Support special projects and other departmental initiatives as assigned
Qualifications:
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation, Urban Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, Art History, Architectural History, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in project management, planning, zoning, historic preservation, community development, municipal government, or a related field
• Knowledge of land use, planning, zoning, preservation principles, and public-sector processes
• Strong project coordination, organizational, and time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Valid driver's license required
