Resources and Referrals Assistant
Position Overview
A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a Resources & Referrals Assistant to support families and community members by providing information, resources, and referrals to available programs and services. This position serves as a key point of contact for inquiries and requires someone who is customer-focused, organized, professional, and comfortable managing a high volume of calls while maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage high-volume incoming calls from families and community partners.
- Provide information regarding available programs, services, and eligibility requirements.
- Assist callers with referrals to appropriate community resources and childcare providers.
- Accurately document interactions and maintain participant records in the database.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Schedule appointments and assist with program intake processes.
- Perform data entry and administrative support tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and ensure compliance with agency policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure quality customer service.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- 1+ year of customer service, call center, administrative support, or nonprofit experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with community programs, social services, childcare, or nonprofit organizations.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Compensation
