The Data Management Team Coordinator will work with a team of Data Scientists and Data Management professionals to drive products to adopt best-in-class technical principles in data management and data interoperability to store, access, and leverage data in-line with best practices and the DHA's needs and requirements. Through collaboration with Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and SMEs across multiple teams, they will coordinate data integration and governance efforts that support the MHS GENESIS mission and enterprise data operations. The Data Management Team Coordinator must be intuitive and able to anticipate organizational needs. They must be able to go into an organization and understand how people, culture, and processes work together to identify gaps in data management and fill them with expert care. This candidate will be expected to develop a detailed understanding of enterprise data management concepts and associated technologies as they relate to providing accurate, secure, and interoperable data solutions supporting a large federal health enterprise. This coordinator must be highly motivated, self-driven, forward-thinking, and results-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Drive products to adopt best-in-class technical principles in data management and interoperability to store, access, and leverage data in alignment with DHA's needs and requirements
  • Coordinate data integration and interoperability across all enterprise data systems to ensure seamless data exchange in support of the MHS GENESIS mission
  • Maintain data standards across all portfolio projects, proactively identifying and correcting risks to keep projects aligned with data integration goals
  • Support executive stakeholder and steering committee engagements by translating complex data integration milestones and quality metrics into clear, actionable briefings and program roadmaps
  • Coordinate data management interactions with FEHRM and VA for technical activities
  • Coordinate with vendor engineering leads on data management, governance, and interoperability requirements
  • Provide data management support services for Product/Platform Teams, including guidance on data architecture, housing, and governance
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to collect information and provide SME support as needed
  • Drive coordination of best practices and information sharing across teams and pillars
  • Support the adoption of modern, secure data-sharing practices across the enterprise ensuring data management and systems engineering teams remain aligned in their technical approaches
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency to reduce manual processes and improve overall data operations
  • Contribute to goals and metrics for all activity areas adjacent to each service offering
  • Build and maintain customer satisfaction across all internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, with willingness to pursue TS/SCI
  • Basic proficiency in data tools such as SQL, Python, or similar data management and analysis tools
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data interoperability standards, and enterprise data management best practices
  • Basic understanding of data architecture and cloud-based data management platforms
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience supporting stakeholder engagements and preparing briefings or presentations
  • Work well under pressure with differing levels of Management
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and communications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred

  • Experience with DoD, DHA, or federal health enterprise environments, with familiarity with military health systems and organizational structures
  • Familiarity with DHMSM, MHS GENESIS, or other DoD electronic health record (EHR) systems and associated data ecosystems
  • Holds or is working toward a CompTIA Security+ certification in compliance with DoD 8570/8140 requirements
  • Experience working within Agile or DevSecOps environments supporting government programs
  • Prior experience coordinating with FEHRM, VA, or other federal health interoperability initiatives
  • Customer Service Focused – deliver sustained high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively translate and communicate complex data management concepts to all levels of internal and external organizations
