AD Estimating Supervisor

Description

Position Purpose 

As the Air Distribution Estimating Supervisor, you will oversee the quality, standards and timeliness of the Building Environments estimating activities. This position will oversee the air distribution estimating personnel, ensure sales and profit objectives are met, timesheet approval and overhead costs, conduct departmental forecasting, organize customer trainings/sales seminars, etc. The AD Estimating Supervisor will report to the Building Environments Operations Manager and will oversee the Building Environments Estimators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality, standardization and timeliness of estimating activities
  • Develop and manage a team of estimators through recruitment, training, supervision and coaching.
  • Assist operations manager in performance and salary reviews
  • Manages workload and scheduling of the estimators to ensure timely bid and proposal completion.
  • Reviews and manages personnel timecards and overhead costs
  • Conducts departmental forecasting for personnel needs, compensation, profit sharing.
  • Assist air distribution department personnel with construction document interpretation
  • Maintains active contact with customers, vendors and suppliers
  • Assist with obtaining accurate vendor multipliers and costs for air distribution projects
  • Ensure timely delivery of necessary documents to estimators and bid coordinators.
  • Maintain accuracy and functionality of air distribution estimating tools in collaboration with IT and operations.
  • Assist in identifying and coordinating participation in industry trade shows to promote air distribution products
  • Conduct departmental training on technical systems, plans reading, and air distribution equipment.
  • Assist sales and operations managers in coordinating sales plans and promotions with air distribution factory sales managers
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies relevant to air distribution products.
  • Ensures LONG is fairly compensated for all equipment provided
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications  

  • 4-year engineering or business degree and 5 years related work experience OR 2 year technical degree and 7 years related work experience OR 10 years related work experience
  • Expert level understanding of basic heat and mass transfer concepts.
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills
  • Expert in Bluebeam and CRM.
  • Proven leadership and organization skills with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the decision-making process at key levels
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization with professionalism
  • Ability to travel and inspect jobsites and visit customers

Physical Requirements 

  • This work may involve sitting for extended periods, bending or kneeling.
  • This position may require lifting to 25 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
