In this role:

  • The Senior Operations Processor is responsible for managing and resolving operational exceptions, investigating transactional discrepancies, and ensuring timely resolution of issues within established service level agreements (SLAs). The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, risk awareness, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to mitigate operational risks and improve process efficiency.

  • Key Responsibilities Exception Management

  • Review, analyze, and resolve operational exceptions identified through various monitoring tools and systems.
  • Investigate unmatched, suspended, rejected, or failed transactions and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure all exceptions are tracked, documented, and resolved within defined turnaround times.
  • Escalate high-risk or aged exceptions to management as required.

Investigations

  • Conduct detailed investigations of transactional discrepancies, payment failures, client inquiries, and operational incidents.
  • Research issues using multiple systems and data sources to identify root causes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to obtain required information and resolve cases.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigation findings and resolution outcomes.

Risk & Control

  • Adhere to operational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential operational risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and evidence are maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Support control testing and risk mitigation initiatives

Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate investigation status and resolution updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Business teams to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members on exception handling processes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to reduce operational exceptions.
  • Participate in process reviews and automation initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of procedures, controls, and training materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, Banking, or related field.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in Banking Operations, Payment Operations, Investigations, Reconciliation, or Exception Processing.
  • Strong knowledge of operational procedures, risk management, and controls.
  • Experience investigating complex transactional issues and resolving exceptions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational processing systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in Payment Operations, SWIFT, SEPA, Wire Transfers, ACH, Treasury Services, or Correspondent Banking.
  • Knowledge of operational risk and control frameworks.
  • Experience with case management and workflow tools.
    • The team member reviews all unmatched/unidentified Nostro entries daily based on the WLS (Wholesale Lending Services) outstanding items report and checks for an existing PEGA case.
    • The team member should ensure all the WLS high value transactions and Intelli Match breaks are cleared on priority.
