Loan Processor
A busy company in the East Hanover area is seeking a Loan Processor to join their growing team. This Loan Processor will support residential mortgage files from initial approval stages through final closing. In this Loan Processor, you will coordinate documentation, validate borrower information, and keep each file moving efficiently while meeting lending standards. The ideal Loan Processor is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly with multiple stakeholders, and maintains strong attention to detail throughout the loan lifecycle. Loan Processor Responsibilities:
• Examine incoming loan files to confirm all required information and supporting materials are complete and accurate before processing begins.
• Gather and organize borrower documents such as income records, asset statements, tax documents, and employment-related paperwork needed to advance the file.
• Validate key borrower details, including assets, employment, and credit information, by using approved third-party verification tools and available systems.
• Initiate required third-party services, including appraisals, title work, and flood certifications, to support underwriting and closing readiness.
• Work through underwriting stipulations by obtaining missing information and ensuring all outstanding conditions are satisfied on time.
• Provide timely status updates to borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and real estate partners to keep all parties informed throughout the process.
• Maintain accurate loan records and monitor file progress to help ensure smooth coordination from pre-approval through closing.
• Apply federal and state mortgage lending requirements throughout the process to help maintain compliance and documentation integrity.
This Loan Processor role is paying between $60,000 and $70,000 annually depending on experience. If interested in this Loan Processor position, apply today.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience processing residential mortgage loans.• Proficiency with loan origination systems, with preference for experience using Encompass or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and other residential mortgage lending guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple loan files and deadlines at the same time.
• Solid numerical accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing financial and borrower documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with borrowers and internal and external partners.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Compensation
