Payroll Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for a workforce of approximately 100 employees in Houston, Texas. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a hands-on environment and managing both salaried and hourly payroll with accuracy. The schedule is 20 hours per week, typically Monday through Wednesday, and the role requires strong attention to payroll records, earnings calculations, and reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Process end-to-end payroll for a mixed employee population that includes both salaried and hourly team members.
• Review and calculate regular hours, overtime, bonus payments, and other earnings to ensure timely and accurate payroll completion.
• Maintain payroll records and verify employee pay data, deductions, and supporting documentation before each payroll cycle.
• Administer wage garnishments and ensure withholdings are handled in compliance with payroll guidelines and timelines.
• Prepare payroll-related reports and reconcile payroll information for internal tracking and management review.
• Transfer and organize payroll data within reporting systems as needed to support accurate recordkeeping and downstream reporting.
• Respond to payroll questions from employees and assist with resolving discrepancies in pay, hours, or deductions.

Qualifications:

• Experience processing payroll in a hands-on environment with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Background in full-cycle payroll administration for employee populations ranging from approximately 101 to 500 workers.
• Working knowledge of payroll practices for both hourly and salaried employees.
• Experience handling garnishments and related payroll deductions.
• Ability to review time, overtime, and bonus information and apply it correctly in payroll processing.
• Proficiency in maintaining payroll records and producing payroll reports.
• Availability to work a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, Monday through Wednesday.

Compensation

$20.59-$23.84 Hourly
