Director of Finance / Controller
Our client, a rapidly growing private equity-backed company in the distribution and service space, is seeking a hands-on Director of Finance / Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, and cash management across a multi-entity organization. Based on general knowledge.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong accounting leader with a CPA and deep controllership experience who enjoys being close to the numbers while also looking to grow into a broader, more strategic finance leadership role over time. Based on general knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities. Based on general knowledge.
- Manage consolidated financial reporting and ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with GAAP. Based on general knowledge.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including internal controls, compliance, audit support, and cash management. Based on general knowledge.
- Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support key business decisions. Based on general knowledge.
- Support debt compliance reporting, working capital management, and cash flow planning. Based on general knowledge.
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation across the accounting and finance function. Based on general knowledge.
- Assist with acquisition integration and the alignment of financial processes across subsidiaries. Based on general knowledge.
- Play a key role in ERP optimization, systems enhancements, and onboarding new entities into the financial infrastructure. Based on general knowledge.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team while building scalable processes to support continued growth. Based on general knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Based on general knowledge.
- CPA required. Based on general knowledge.
- Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience with a strong foundation in controllership and hands-on accounting. Based on general knowledge.
- Proven experience with multi-entity consolidations. Based on general knowledge.
- Experience in distribution, product-based, or multi-company environments strongly preferred. Based on general knowledge.
- Background working in a large ERP environment required; ERP implementation experience is a strong plus. Based on general knowledge.
- NetSuite or similar ERP experience strongly preferred. Based on general knowledge.
- Experience supporting a growing organization, including acquisitions and integrations, is a plus. Based on general knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and evolve into a strategic finance business partner. Based on general knowledge.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.• CPA designation is required.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience with strong controllership expertise.
• Demonstrated success managing financial consolidations in a multi-entity environment.
• Background in distribution, product-based organizations, or other multi-company business structures is strongly preferred.
• Experience working within a large ERP environment is required; exposure to ERP implementation or enhancement initiatives is highly valued.
• Proficiency with NetSuite, SAP, or comparable enterprise accounting systems is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively across departments and grow into a broader strategic finance leadership role.
Compensation
