Litigation Legal Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Manage incoming mail by reviewing, scanning, and directing documents to the appropriate recipients to ensure timely follow-up.
• Provide daily administrative and litigation support to attorneys, helping maintain organized case files and efficient workflow.
• Oversee attorney calendars, track court and case deadlines, and proactively monitor time-sensitive events such as filing dates and deposition-related obligations.
• Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, filings, shells, and document copies for submission and internal use.
• Coordinate the service of legal documents and confirm that delivery and filing steps are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Handle state and federal court filings using established procedures and applicable electronic filing systems.
• Utilize legal support tools such as One Legal and Law Toolbox to assist with case management, calendaring, and filing activities.
• Work closely with colleagues in a team-focused environment while contributing to reliable support for ongoing litigation matters.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in a legal assistant or legal secretary role supporting litigation matters.• Background in civil litigation defense, with flexibility regarding specific practice area experience.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal court filing rules and related procedural requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage attorney calendars independently and keep critical deadlines on track.
• Experience preparing pleadings and supporting documents, including proofreading and formatting for filing.
• Familiarity with serving legal documents and assembling filing-ready materials.
• Proficiency with litigation support systems such as One Legal and Law Toolbox is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative office environment.
Compensation
