Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the monthly accounting close for the facility and prepare accurate financial reports within established deadlines.
• Monitor and record inventory activity, evaluate variances, and partner with plant staff to understand trends and operational results.
• Administer weekly payroll through an external payroll service provider and help ensure timely, accurate processing.
• Coordinate the accounts payable cycle by reviewing supplier invoices, validating supporting documentation, and confirming approvals before payment.
• Enter authorized invoices into the company accounting system and complete scheduled check runs for designated operations.
• Contribute to year-end closing activities and provide support during the annual review with external accounting advisors.
• Perform a range of general accounting tasks, including reconciliations, cash application, fixed asset tracking, journal entries, and pricing updates.
• Assist the Accounting Manager and broader finance team with ad hoc assignments, reporting needs, and special projects as business needs evolve.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.• At least 2 years of accounting experience; experience level may support consideration at either the Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant level.
• Solid understanding of general ledger activity, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Strong Excel capabilities, including the use of pivot tables, lookup functions, and report formatting.
• Experience with payroll platforms and accounting systems is preferred.
• Manufacturing accounting experience, including exposure to inventory or cost accounting, is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, maintain accuracy, and follow assignments through to completion.
• Willingness to work onsite in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with limited travel and occasional ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation
