Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing close activities, utilizing percentage of completion methods and managing balance sheet areas such as prepaids and fixed assets. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, sound judgment, and the ability to help establish accounting structure and processes within AX Dynamics.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely completion of assigned accounting tasks.

• Maintain and analyze prepaid balances, including amortization schedules and supporting documentation for accurate financial reporting.

• Oversee fixed asset accounting by recording additions, tracking depreciation, and reconciling asset-related balances.

• Review and support general ledger activity to ensure transactions are properly classified and aligned with accounting standards.

• Help build and organize accounting workflows and system structure within AX Dynamics to support effective financial operations.

• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to improve accuracy across the financial statements.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including percentage of completion experience.

• Hands-on experience working with prepaid accounts, fixed assets, and general ledger maintenance.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.

• Experience using ERP systems, with the ability to support accounting setup or process development within AX Dynamics preferred.

• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.

• Proficiency in analyzing account activity and resolving reconciliation issues independently.
