Interim Finance Manager

Compensation: $47.50 to $55 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced Interim Finance Manager on a part-time basis to support a nonprofit organization in Denver, Colorado on a Contract basis. This role will guide core accounting and financial planning activities, strengthen reporting accuracy, and provide dependable oversight of grant-related finances. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, hands-on leadership during month-end close, and the ability to deliver clear financial insight to support organizational decision-making.


Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process, ensuring financial records are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and analysis that help leaders understand performance and trends.

• Build forecasts and financial models to support budgeting, scenario planning, and operational decisions.

• Oversee accounting and compliance activities for federal, foundation, and government-funded grants, including tracking restricted funding.

• Monitor grant budgets and spending patterns to confirm alignment with award requirements and internal controls.

• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and recommend practical actions to improve budget performance.

• Maintain reliable financial data within NetSuite and support consistent reporting across finance operations.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on financial planning, reporting expectations, and grant management practices.


Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including work in a finance manager or similar leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated success managing month-end close and producing accurate financial reporting in a timely manner.
• Strong background in financial analysis, forecasting, and building models that support strategic planning.
• Experience with grant accounting and grant administration, including federal, foundation, and other government funding sources.
• Working knowledge of nonprofit finance practices and the reporting requirements tied to restricted funds.
• Proficiency with NetSuite and strong overall systems capability in financial reporting environments.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Compensation

$47.50-$55.00 Hourly
