Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a finance team in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the monthly close process, and ensuring account activity is properly reviewed and reconciled. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
• Record and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including transactions related to intercompany activity.
• Examine general ledger balances to identify variances, unusual items, and areas requiring follow-up.
• Validate the accuracy of accounting records and recommend adjustments when discrepancies are found.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research differences to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist with month-end close activities to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to confirm completeness and accuracy across financial records.
• Adhere to internal policies and applicable accounting standards in all assigned work.
• Provide documentation and support during external audit activities and respond to audit-related requests as needed.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience in a senior-level or closely related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries accurately and efficiently.
• Experience completing account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting practices.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$90,000.00 Yearly
