Transportation Management Logistics Planning Lead
Responsibilities:
• Coach and support transportation management coordinators and senior team members to strengthen day-to-day execution and encourage consistent service standards.
• Develop and implement process enhancements that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and overall transportation performance.
• Oversee daily workflow for transportation operations and, when needed, lead a coordinator team to ensure customer commitments are met.
• Partner with leadership and customers to design tailored operating procedures covering shipment planning, routing compliance, exception handling, appointment coordination, tracking, carrier sourcing, spot market coverage, and load optimization.
• Serve as a subject matter resource by advising customers and internal partners on supply chain best practices and transportation network opportunities.
• Identify ways to expand customer value by introducing additional service capabilities that align with broader business solutions.
• Assist in preparing and delivering quarterly business reviews using clear reporting, analysis, and presentation materials for customer discussions.
• Maintain and refine standard operating documentation in collaboration with internal teams and external clients to support consistent execution.
• Build working knowledge of related functional areas such as carrier relations, freight audit and payment, invoicing, and brokerage support tools.
• Look for opportunities to deepen existing client relationships through strong operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or a related field is required.• At least 3 to 4 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a closely related industry environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to customers, peers, and leadership.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, sound decision-making, and close attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on commitments, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed based on business and client requirements.
Compensation
