Accounts Receivable Clerk

Our client is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their accounting team and support daily receivables operations. This is a full-time, onsite position in Colma, California.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with financial data, payments, and customer accounts. You’ll play an important role in keeping accounts accurate, payments properly recorded, and receivables running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Process and post customer payments, including checks, cash, and credit cards.
• Enter and update payment information accurately in the accounting system.
• Prepare daily deposits and reconcile payments to bank records.
• Process recurring credit card payments and AR batches.
• Follow up on payment issues, returned checks, and declined payments.
• Answer basic customer questions about invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Prepare customer statements, invoices, and payment notices.
• Process refunds and cancellations as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized AR records and documentation.
• Assist with filing, mail, audits, and year-end accounting tasks.
• Perform basic data entry and other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
• Comfortable working with numbers, payment transactions, and account reconciliations.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with accounts receivable or accounting preferred.
• Experience with Sage or similar accounting software is a plus.
