Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Systems Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a complex IT environment in Florida. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in enterprise storage, virtualization, and backup technologies, especially SAN storage, NetApp, Pure Storage, Veeam, and VMware.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and administer SAN/NAS storage environments, including NetApp and Pure Storage platforms.
• Manage and optimize VMware infrastructure, including hosts, clusters, datastores, and virtual machines.
• Oversee Veeam backup and recovery operations, including backup monitoring, restore support, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers in a production environment.
• Support core infrastructure including servers, storage, backups, cloud resources, and network-connected systems.
• Assist with infrastructure security, system performance, documentation, and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with IT teams on networking technologies including VPNs, switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless.
• Participate in on-call support and contribute to infrastructure planning and upgrades.

Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with SAN storage, NetApp, Pure Storage, VMware, and Veeam.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Linux.
• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity best practices.
• Familiarity with networking and security technologies such as VPNs, firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Additional experience with Hyper-V, Nutanix, OpenShift, Citrix, or Exchange is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in VMware, Veeam, NetApp, Pure Storage, Azure, or OpenShift are preferred.
