Tax Preparer

A well-established tax firm is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to provide immediate support as the October 15 tax filing deadline approaches. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who can quickly step in, manage a high volume of returns, and potentially return for the 2027 tax season.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, primarily supporting the October 15 extended filing deadline.
• Organize and review client tax documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Enter and process tax data efficiently while ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations.
• Identify missing information, discrepancies, and potential tax issues.
• Communicate with clients and internal team members regarding outstanding documentation and questions.
• Assist with finalizing returns and meeting strict filing deadlines.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of recent tax preparation experience preferred.
• Experience preparing individual Form 1040 returns; business return experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and follow-through.
• Tax software experience required; Lacerte, UltraTax, CCH Axcess, or similar preferred.
