Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Princeton University with focus on Interactions between Climate Extremes and Built Environment

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Princeton University invites applications for a faculty position at rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, in Interactions between Climate Extremes and Built Environment, with a preferred start date of September 1, 2027, or January 16, 2028. Candidates must have the ability and motivation to develop a vigorous independent research program and to participate in collaborative efforts of the faculty.

The successful candidate would join a dynamic department with world class undergraduate and graduate programs in civil and environmental engineering. They will contribute to teaching foundational undergraduate and advanced graduate courses in CEE while also embracing the many transdisciplinary connections across Princeton. An appointment may be made jointly with another department or program.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in an appropriate field (including but not limited to Civil and Environmental Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Fluid-Structure Interaction, Environmental Science, Systems Engineering, etc.) and a proven record of innovation and creativity in conducting research at, but not limited to, interactions between climate extremes and built environment, as applied to the pressing civil and environmental engineering problems related to resilience, sustainability, and climate change adaptation.
