SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified System Administrator II.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated System Administrator to join the IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s server, network, and infrastructure environment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, a security-focused mindset, and the ability to provide exceptional technical support to end users while ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise systems.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Infrastructure Administration:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade physical and virtual servers.
  • Deploy, configure, and support network hardware including switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and VPN appliances.
  • Manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
  • Monitor system availability and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Network Administration:

  • Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN connectivity.
  • Monitor network traffic, bandwidth utilization, and system performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, latency, and performance issues.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and infrastructure changes.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain security policies, access controls, and user permissions.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection, and security monitoring tools.
  • Perform security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities.
  • Ensure systems are updated with security patches and firmware upgrades.

Technical Support:

  • Provide Tier II/III technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot server, workstation, application, and connectivity problems.
  • Assist users with Microsoft 365, Windows, printers, mobile devices, and enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Backup & Disaster Recovery:

  • Monitor backup systems and verify successful completion of scheduled backups.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
  • Participate in system recovery testing and documentation.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain accurate documentation for systems, network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Recommend infrastructure improvements to enhance performance, security, and reliability.
  • Participate in IT projects including migrations, upgrades, and new technology implementations.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).

Experience: 3+ years of experience administering Windows server and network environments.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V), and enterprise networking.
  • Strong Linux knowledge
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall administration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Preferred Certifications and Skills:

  • Candidates with one or more of the following certifications are encouraged to apply: CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools and security platforms.
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
