Position Title: Incoming Inspector

Description

The Incoming Inspector works on the Quality Team supporting the Cable Manufacturing site in Wilsonville, Oregon. The shift hours are M-F, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Summary/Objective: The Incoming Inspector is responsible for inspection of advanced products upon receipt from Samtecs suppliers and to ensure that they meet product specification drawing using a variety of test methods/instruments.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, and/or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications. (True position, cross sectioning)
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints for advanced products (ex. Xcede, Firefly, RF), supplier datasheets, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures required.
  • Disposition materials with details regarding accept/reject status.
  • Use various systems to record inspection measurements and record product non-conformances.

Required Experience:

  • Must have one year of previous inspection experience.
  • Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Must have experience with Samtec systems such as: Lablynx, QP Suite, GD&T, Print Vu, etc.
  • Experience with and comprehension of component tooling drawings.
  • Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Minimum Score of 50 on the Mechanical Aptitude Test.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Training Required:

  • On the job training as appropriate.
