Legal Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, revise, and format pleadings, correspondence, and other legal materials for attorney review and filing.
• Submit court filings through electronic and traditional methods for state, federal, and appellate matters while monitoring filing requirements and deadlines.
• Oversee attorney calendars by tracking hearings, meetings, case deadlines, and other time-sensitive commitments.
• Arrange meetings, calls, and related scheduling logistics to support daily legal team operations.
• Handle billing support for assigned timekeepers, including reviewing entries and coordinating routine invoicing tasks.
• Contribute to trial and case preparation by organizing documents, materials, and administrative details in advance of proceedings.
• Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy case files using document management tools such as iManage.
• Coordinate travel plans and complete expense processing for attorneys and other assigned team members.
• Provide backup assistance to colleagues and additional legal professionals as workflow demands shift.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in a litigation legal assistant or legal secretarial role.• Prior experience in a law firm setting required; exposure to large firm environments is helpful.
• Working knowledge of court filing procedures, including e-filing across multiple court levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems, including iManage.
• Experience supporting legal billing activities and maintaining detailed attorney calendars.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational ability.
• High level of attention to detail, dependability, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
