Billing Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support a growing security organization in New York, New York. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone with strong billing experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. The person in this role will help ensure accurate invoicing, timely account follow-up, and smooth day-to-day billing operations.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process customer invoices with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Review billing records and statements to confirm charges, resolve discrepancies, and maintain complete documentation.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on collections to support timely payment activity.
• Use computerized billing platforms and related systems to manage account information and transaction details efficiently.
• Respond to internal and external billing inquiries by researching issues and providing clear resolutions.
• Reconcile billing data across reports and records to help maintain accurate financial information.
• Assist with updates to billing workflows, including system-related process changes when needed.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support daily billing operations and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in billing, invoicing, or a closely related accounting support function.
• Hands-on experience with billing statements, collections activity, and day-to-day billing operations.
• Strong technical proficiency and confidence using computerized billing systems and business software.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate account issues, and resolve billing concerns accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven work environment.

Compensation

$25.00-$32.00 Hourly
