Retail Pharmacy Biller

We are looking for a Retail Pharmacy Biller to support pharmacy billing operations in California. This contract position focuses on preparing accurate claims, following reimbursement activity through payment, and working with patients, payers, and internal partners to address billing issues efficiently. The ideal candidate will help maintain compliant billing practices while contributing to timely revenue collection and a positive service experience.

Responsibilities:
• Review billing records and account activity to identify discrepancies, correct errors, and maintain accurate financial documentation.
• Enter and reconcile pharmacy charges, payments, and adjustments so billing transactions remain complete and compliant.
• Create and distribute invoices and related billing documents for pharmacy services in a timely manner.
• Submit insurance claims accurately and monitor each claim through adjudication, payment, or required follow-up.
• Research denied or underpaid claims, coordinate with payers and internal teams, and resolve issues to improve reimbursement outcomes.
• Support pharmacy billing workflows, reporting needs, and process improvements that strengthen efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with pharmacy billing initiatives and program-related tracking to ensure reliable operational support.
• Prepare daily payment deposits and maintain organized records of received funds.
• Provide attentive service when communicating with patients, insurance representatives, and cross-functional teams regarding billing questions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate or technical training in a related field is a plus.
• Prior experience in billing or revenue cycle work, with retail pharmacy billing experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy terminology, insurance claims processing, and reimbursement practices.
• Familiarity with coding and billing standards, including ICD-10, preferred.
• Ability to investigate account issues, resolve denials, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Comfortable using billing systems, preparing reports, and handling payment posting activities with close attention to detail.
• Strong customer service and communication skills for working with patients, payers, and internal departments.
• Willingness to meet employment-related compliance requirements, including applicable vaccination policies and E-Verify participation.

Compensation

$25.00-$28.00 Hourly
