Project Manager

We are looking for an accomplished Project Manager to lead construction initiatives in Newark, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented individual who can guide projects from early planning through final delivery while maintaining strong control over schedule, budget, and quality. The role requires close coordination with contractors, project stakeholders, and field teams to keep work moving efficiently and resolve issues before they affect progress.

Responsibilities:
• Direct several construction assignments at once, ensuring each project advances according to established timelines, financial targets, and quality expectations.
• Lead day-to-day coordination with contractors and field personnel, providing guidance that supports safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.
• Examine drawings, specifications, contracts, and related project records to confirm scope clarity and support informed decision-making.
• Administer change order activities, including review, negotiation, documentation, and implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain detailed project schedules, track milestone performance, and address delays through proactive planning.
• Recognize potential project risks early and apply practical mitigation strategies to reduce cost exposure and operational disruption.
• Partner with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain clear communication and alignment on project goals and progress.
• Perform regular site visits to monitor construction activity, verify workmanship, and provide hands-on leadership in the field.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of project management experience, with a strong track record in construction environments.
• Background within architecture, engineering, or construction sectors.
• Practical experience using Procore for project coordination and documentation management.
• Demonstrated strength in project scheduling, including tracking milestones and adjusting plans as needed.
• Experience overseeing contractors, managing change orders, and interpreting construction documents.
• Familiarity with projects in Newark, New Jersey and surrounding areas.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• PMP certification and broader formal project management expertise are valued; exposure to cross-functional delivery approaches or Agile Scrum is a plus.

Compensation

$35.63-$41.25 Hourly
