Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to support accounts receivable efforts for an organization based in Bridgewater, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone who can manage commercial and consumer collections with professionalism, persistence, and strong attention to detail. The role focuses on maintaining healthy cash flow, resolving outstanding balances, and working closely with customers to secure timely payment while providing consistent billing support.

Responsibilities:

• Contact commercial and consumer customers regarding overdue balances and guide them through appropriate payment solutions.

• Review aging reports and prioritize follow-up activities to reduce past-due accounts and improve collection results.

• Investigate billing questions, reconcile account discrepancies, and coordinate with internal partners to support accurate account resolution.

• Maintain clear documentation of collection activity, customer communication, and payment commitments in company systems.

• Monitor account status regularly and escalate higher-risk balances when additional action is needed.

• Support billing and credit-related collection processes to help ensure prompt and accurate receivable management.

• Use collection platforms and related tools, including QuickBooks Desktop and JobFiles, to track account details and update records.

• Contribute during remote coverage periods of approximately two to three weeks each month while sustaining consistent follow-up with customers.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling both commercial and consumer collections in a detail-oriented business environment.
• Working knowledge of credit and collections practices, including account follow-up, payment negotiation, and aging management.
• Ability to resolve billing collection issues by reviewing account details and identifying the source of discrepancies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting while managing deadlines and maintaining organized records.
• Proficiency with collection-related systems and accounting software, including QuickBooks Desktop, is preferred.
• High level of accuracy, sound judgment, and persistence when managing sensitive account and payment matters.

Compensation

$25.34-$29.34 Hourly
