Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a transportation equipment manufacturing organization in Willingboro, New Jersey. This role is well suited for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely reporting and tax-related processes. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and aligned with reporting deadlines.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to maintain the integrity of monthly and year-end close activities.
• Support corporate tax compliance by assisting with tax schedules, filings, and documentation required for return preparation.
• Manage sales tax processes, including reviewing transactions, tracking obligations, and helping ensure timely and accurate submissions.
• Compile financial data from multiple sources and organize supporting documentation for audits, internal reviews, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve the accuracy of financial information used in decision-making.
• Assist in maintaining accounting records and standard procedures while supporting process updates tied to operational or system changes when needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

• Working knowledge of corporate tax principles, including experience supporting corporate tax return activities.

• Experience handling sales tax reporting and related reconciliations.

• Strong ability to prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, financial analysis, and month-end close support.

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Compensation

$75,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
