Controller
Responsibilities:
• Direct the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate records and timely month-end and year-end close activities.
• Review and manage G702 and G703 billing documentation, including subcontractor draws, to support proper invoicing and payment processes.
• Supervise and provide guidance to two bookkeeping team members, helping maintain consistency, accountability, and strong daily workflow management.
• Oversee financial processes related to construction projects, including compliance documentation, contract-related requirements, and insurance tracking.
• Maintain effective use of accounting and operational systems such as Paychex, TimberScan, and Sage 100 to support financial accuracy and reporting.
• Coordinate document organization and control for accounting records, scanned files, and project-related financial documentation.
• Monitor compliance with owner and contractor requirements associated with construction accounting and billing practices.
• Partner with leadership to support budgeting, cash flow visibility, and financial decision-making across the business.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting role within the construction or contractor industry.• Strong working knowledge of G702 and G703 billing processes and subcontractor draw administration.
• Experience managing construction insurance documentation and related financial requirements.
• Proficiency with systems such as Paychex, TimberScan, and Sage 100, or the ability to quickly adapt to similar platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise accounting support staff and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions.
• Bilingual communication skills are required.
• Strong attention to detail with experience in document control, document scanning, and maintaining organized financial records.
Compensation
