Cloud Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a collaborative team supporting strategic cloud initiatives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced cloud professional who excels at designing scalable infrastructure, driving automation, and leading cloud modernization efforts across enterprise environments. The role offers the opportunity to influence cloud strategy, architect platform solutions, and contribute to emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Support the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of cloud infrastructure across enterprise environments.
• Develop and refine Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to create consistent and repeatable deployments.
• Partner with technical teams to establish cloud architecture patterns, governance practices, and secure platform foundations.
• Contribute to workload modernization and migration efforts as applications and services evolve within the cloud ecosystem.
• Assist with CI/CD improvements by helping enhance automation workflows and supporting the use of GitHub-based delivery pipelines.
• Participate in building a new data platform that incorporates modern cloud services and AI-oriented capabilities.
• Create scripts and automated processes that streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve reliability.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, and data stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions.
• Help monitor platform health, support operational excellence initiatives, and strengthen overall service stability.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, AWS infrastructure, DevOps, systems engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Deep experience designing, building, implementing, and supporting AWS cloud environments within complex enterprise organizations.
- Proven experience designing and implementing AWS Landing Zones, including multi-account strategies, governance, networking, identity management, security controls, and operational frameworks.
- Strong expertise in AWS services related to networking, security, IAM, compute, storage, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
- Advanced experience developing automation and scripting solutions using Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for enterprise-scale cloud provisioning and management.
- Strong experience designing, building, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and cloud-native automation tools.
- Demonstrated success leading cloud migration, modernization, and platform engineering initiatives.
- Experience establishing cloud governance standards, security best practices, and operational excellence processes across AWS environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex cloud infrastructure and platform issues.
- Proven ability to collaborate with architects, security teams, application developers, and business stakeholders while providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience. AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Advanced Networking, or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional are highly preferred.
